FlRST We start out with the tour of Fort Sumter, where the Civil War began. Fort
Sumter is an island fort that can be reached only by ferry. The ride to the fort is about 30 minutes. The ferry has restrooms, light food and drinks. While on the ferry you will have great views of Charleston and you will likely see dolphins playing in the harbor. The ferry is air-conditioned.
Fort Sumter Tour lasts from 9:30AM-11:45PM
NEXT After the ferry returns back to the dock we pick you up and you select from
any one of the four plantations. (If you select Middleton Place it is $10 extra charge.)
You will learn in depth about life on the the plantations and what impact the slaves
had on it. All the plantations offer drinks and most have food and ice cream that you
can purchase.
Plantation tour lasts from 12:00PM – 4:00PM
LAST You will be treated to a fabulous 90 minute tour of the Historic District aboard our air-conditioned bus. The tour takes you in the heart of the city where you will see all the great sights of our city. You can substitute a horse and carriage tour instead of the bus tour for an extra $15. We return you back to your hotel after the tour.
City tour lasts from 4:30PM – 6:00PM
